Eileen is a regular contributor to Conversations, bringing many of her musicological ramblings to the Newspaper; she has been writing since the days of the Con's pre-Vietnam War rag - Con-script (name changed shortly after) - and has had a significant impact on the studies of music students all over Australia.

Wright is a prominent figure in the Australian-but-not-Tasmianian and New Zealander Xenomusicological Association (ANZXA), and has the role of boosting the academic standard of the Newspaper and of the entire New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music - something she fears has plummeted since the forced amalgamation of the Conservatorium into the University of Sydney and their cost-cutting addition.
